1. Purpose
Market Sentiment is a regime indicator that, at any given moment, assigns the market one of five states. It is used as a filter for trade direction/aggressiveness and as contextual input for averaging and risk management.
2. States
- Bull — strong bullish regime.
- Soft Bull — moderately bullish regime.
- Neutral — neutral background, no directional edge.
- Soft Bear — moderately bearish regime.
- Bear — strong bearish regime.
3. Interpretation & Use
- Direction filter.
- Bull / Soft Bull: prioritize longs; averaging on longs may be more aggressive.
- Bear / Soft Bear: prioritize shorts; be conservative in longs.
- Neutral: reduce directional bias.
4. Limitations
- The indicator does not predict move amplitude; it classifies background only.
- In narrow/low-volatility conditions, frequent switches between Soft Bull / Neutral / Soft Bear are possible.
